Shannon Anderson began her dance training in Bucks County at a very early age. She later went on to study ballet extensively at The Princeton Ballet School and studied with Douglas Martin, Mary Barton, and Dr. Kim Chandler Vaccaro. Shannon has also studied in New York City with Lesley Powell and the Physical Mind Institute where she received her certification as a Pilates Mat Instructor in 2006.
As a Rider student, Shannon performed in many original modern works and contemporary ballet pieces. In March of 2005, she participated in the premiere of "Rider Dances" and was invited to perform under special guest choreographer, Mary Barton. Upon graduating in May 2005, she completed an independent study investigating teaching methodologies in dance using hands-on experience with ballet students. Shannon has been on faculty at New Jersey's leading dance company, American Repertory Ballet, for the company's Outreach and Educational Program, Dance Power. At La Luna Dance Studio, Shannon can be found performing with La Luna's semi-pro Salsa team, Las Estrellas, and teaching Ballet and Early Dance classes in the TNT program.
